But what should we name her?

I just got this mental image of a Tanzanian man running for his life when he hears you calling for your pet Lion (Simba).

Hope things are going well. Sorry you've had such a crazy time with the house building. I was talking with Janice Bingham the other day and she said to tell you all Hello.

My take on the pic:

Cute puppy, but cuter boy!

Hmmm, a name? My first thought was "iscari" but that would likely offend your iscari. (don't know if that's how you spell that.)

suggestion 1: Don't name the puppy after a food item, even if it IS what she eats, and a fun sounding name. Naming Posho made us a running joke. "That is like naming a person ugali! Or, bread! bwah-ha-hahahaha

Suggestion 2: Same goes for giving her a leash and letting the boys walk her. Trust me, this was ultra embarassing for me. I did it once. You would have thought I was walking a cockroach down the street in the States. Seriously.

SUggestion 3:Lucy is a cute name. Kinda fun. Or....I would say, give her a Swahili name, just not one of a friend.

Maybe.....is gift "zawadi?"
Since she was a gift?

Or, "furaha"-happy.

Or, you can go the route of how you named your goldfish, "fishy-fishy"--do you remember that, so you could say, "here, fishy-fishy?"
So you could name your dog, "doggy" in the same spirit.

Glad to see that Josiah and Elijah finally got a puppy. Or as Josiah said, "puppydog."

MUCH, MUCH love.
I thought of you today and was glad to read about the new member of the family.

One final word of advice--beware vets on motorcycles. Lesson learned the hard way.

love you all...Shannon

how about "saki"... that is what we named our almost next cat.. fits with all the wine type beverages some of the other pets in this family have.. unless it translates into something weird in swahili.. or "tiki" which was the almost next cat's real name..
we have used buddy, brandy, buttons, snickers and fishy fish already!!
however, given the puppie's coloring, snickers kinda works..
i am so glad you have a puppy to bond with the boys and will give you some protection as well... i remember when you took off in a campground and buttons was how i found you, thankfully, not drowned in the russian river.. btw.. please re-email me your contact, email info since i accidently deleted it!!!
love,
puppie's grandma
