living out of a suitcase, continued...

We returned home last night, and we leave first thing in the morning, on our way to Knoxville to meet with the missions committee of the Laurel Church of Christ. Laurel was Charity's church in college, the first church other than my home church to employ me, and one of our major supporters for our survey trip to East Africa in 2001. It is a homecoming of sorts. If only it were football season!!!

We will write more later on our experience at HUT. It's hard to know where to start. One thing is for sure: after two weeks of a simulated third-world experience, our blessings are even more apparent. So my complaining has been temporarily muted. Enjoy the silence!

two weeks in the woods of Arkansas...

we leave tomorrow for Camp Takhodah, in the hills of Arkansas, for two weeks of hands-on training in sustainable, transformational development. We will farm, we will sleep in replica slums, learn about third-world medical interventions, all in a replica village.

So we have an excuse for blog silence.
